So it appears that the Trayvon Martin case has started an epidemic. The ruling was less than acceptable but we cannot turn back the hands of time. The mere fact that in Florida it is ok to follow and gun down somebody then claim self defense is appalling. How is it that you are defending yourself from someone that is walking away from you? How can you claim self defense when the threat has already left, and you decided to follow and confront? Where does that fit in to being self defense? According to http://dictionary.law.com/Default.aspx?selected=1909 self defense is the use of reasonable force to protect ones self or family from perceived harm. So where in the state of Florida is self defense defined as " chasing someone that is running away from you and shooting them dead"? I'm glad you asked that. The answer would be Orlando. You know the place with the theme parks. Disney and Universal. Its in the state known for orange juice. Yup that same Orlando, FL.
Here is a link to the latest ridiculous case of senseless homicide, claimed self-defense to come out of Florida:http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2014/01/21/3187451/florida-suspect-says-believed-man-killed-armed-pants-falling/
